About
I am a Research Associate at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin), where I work on several topics, including conflict, development, governance and maritime security. I received my PhD from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy, in 2009. I was born in the Netherlands in 1981 and completed my undergraduate studies, as well as a Research Master in Economics and Econometrics at the University of Groningen. My previous work experience includes fiscal sustainability, input-output analysis, ethnolinguistic heterogeneity and political economics.
